Commonplace book likely originally owned by the Noel family with entries from 1832 to 1844. It includes illustrations and portraits on card, watercolours, engravings, pencil drawings and poems. Includes extracts from works by Lord Byron. His stanza from Childe Harold beginning "Is thy face like thy mother's, my fair child! ADA! ..." is headed "For Ada" and is followed by a full page stipple engraving with watercolour (artist unidentified) of Ada Byron dated "Ellens 1834, 5 March". Other poets represented include Susanna Blamire and L.E.L. (Letitia Elizabeth Landon), with works that were not published at the time. The Noel family are represented by several entries.
