Evelyn Nicholson's sketchbook
These puzzles have been made from a sketchbook held in Rare Books and Special Collections. This book of watercolours was kept during Evelyn Nicholson's voyage to Australia, New Zealand and South Africa in 1897.
Honi Soit is the University of Sydney’s student newspaper and has been published by the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) since 1929. Honi Soit is is an informative source of the cultural and social history of the University and of Australia itself.
Hermes has been published by the University of Sydney Union (USU) since 1886, making it Australia's oldest literary journal. Former editors of Hermes have included Thomas Bavin (1897), H. V. Evatt (1916), John Le Gay Brereton (1892-94), Kathleen M. Commins (1931), James McAuley (1937), Jock Marshall (1941), Les Murray and Geoffrey Lehmann (1962).
Henry Lawson Collection
The Henry Lawson Collection is made up of first editions of most of Henry Lawson's books, many of which are autographed copies. The heart of our Lawson collection is can be found in the original Lawson manuscripts, letters and notes along with the recollections of Lawson by friends and contemporaries such as Dame Mary Gilmore, Sir Lionel Lindsay, Norman Linsday and Hugh McCrae.
Sarah Stone's illustrations
John White's 1790 book Journal of a Voyage to New South Wales included Sarah Stone's paintings, which are considered to be among the earliest European depictions of Australian flora and fauna.
