Sketch showing a map of Sydney Cove and list of ship names. Includes the following descriptive text: "Sketch & Description of the Settlement at SYDNEY COVE PORT JACKSON in the COUNTY of CUMBERLAND taken by a transported Convict on the 16th of April, 1788, which was not quite 3 Months after Commodore Phillips's Landing there. Sydney Cove lies 3 Leagues to the Northward of BOTANY BAY which is situated in Lat34S : Long.151E." F.F. is identified as the map's creator (i.e. "delineavit"), possibly Francis Fowkes. It is also stated that the map was "Published July 24th 1789 by R. Cribb No. 288 High Holborn." Image 1: original glass negative.
